Late Montes Equaliser Rescues Point for Lokomotiv Against Dinamo Makhachkala

Lokomotiv Moskva needed a late goal from defender César Montes to avoid defeat in a 1–1 draw with FK Dinamo Makhachkala in RFPL action on matchday 24.

The visitors went in front midway through the second half from the penalty spot. Substitute Hazem Mastouri, introduced at half-time, converted in the 63rd minute to give Dinamo Makhachkala a 1–0 lead. His strike came shortly after a yellow card to Lokomotiv defender Gerzino Nyamsi, as the match began to open up following several substitutions on both sides.

Dinamo’s head coach had rolled the dice at the break, bringing on Mastouri and Mohammad Javad Hosseinnejad for Gamid Agalarov and booked defender Soslan Kagermazov. The pressure eventually told. In the 87th minute, Komlichenko turned provider, setting up Montes to level the match at 1–1 and deny Dinamo all three points.

Earlier bookings for Kagermazov (28’) and Nyamsi (62’), as well as a yellow card for Zelimkhan Bakaev (66’), underlined a competitive contest as both clubs battled through a scrappy second half. Lokomotiv also introduced Lucas Vera for Nyamsi in the 80th minute as they pushed for the equaliser that finally arrived.
