AVS made a change at half-time, introducing Oscar Perea for Green, while Vitória SC responded with a double substitution on 56 minutes as Noah Saviolo and Diogo Lobão replaced Oumar Camara and Gonçalo Nogueira. Further fresh legs followed: Kiki came on for Leonardo Rivas on 69 minutes, and Vitória SC withdrew goalscorer Gustavo Silva and Miguel Nogueira a minute later for Nélson Oliveira and Telmo Arcanjo.
AVS pushed for a winner in the closing stages, bringing on Diego Duarte and Ángel Algobia in the 82nd minute and later Guilherme Neiva in the 85th. Their aggression showed in the bookings column, with Leonardo Rivas and goalkeeper Simão Bertelli cautioned in the 65th minute, followed by late yellow cards for Gustavo Mendonça and Cristian Castro on 90 minutes.
