CD Leganés overturned a first-half deficit to defeat Albacete Balompié 2–1 on matchday 35 of the Segunda División, with Álex Millán and Juan Cruz combining decisively at both ends of the comeback.
Albacete struck first in the 38th minute through Álex Rubio, who put the visitors 1–0 up. His goal was the difference at the break after a cagey opening period that also saw early bookings for Hugo Martínez of Albacete and Marvel of Leganés.
Leganés responded immediately after half-time. In the 47th minute, Juan Cruz set up Álex Millán to level the score at 1–1, shifting the momentum firmly towards the home side. The pair then reversed roles midway through the second half: in the 64th minute, Millán turned provider and Cruz finished to complete the turnaround and make it 2–1.
The hosts then looked to manage the game, with Seydouba Cisse and Gonzalo Melero among those withdrawn as Óscar Plano and Carlos Guirao came on to reinforce the midfield. Albacete replied with a flurry of substitutions in the final quarter of an hour, introducing Jonathan Gomez, Samuel Obeng, Víctor San Bartolomé, Fran Gámez and Martín Alejandro Fernández in search of an equaliser, but Leganés held firm.
The closing stages were tense. Albacete’s José Carlos Lazo had already been booked late in the first half, and Jonathan Gomez received a yellow card in stoppage time. Leganés finished the match with ten men after goalscorer Álex Millán was shown a red card in the 90th minute.
The result, confirmed as a 2–1 home win at full time, represents an important three points for Leganés in the regular season of Spain’s second tier. Detailed statistics such as possession, shots and attendance were not available at the time of writing.
