Brentford FC were held to a 2–2 home draw by Everton FC on Premier League matchday 32, as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s stoppage-time goal earned the visitors a valuable point in a dramatic finish.
The match in west London exploded into life inside the opening minutes. Brentford went ahead in the 3rd minute when Thiago Rodrigues converted from the penalty spot to make it 1–0. The spot-kick came moments after Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford had already found his way into the referee’s book with a yellow card in the 2nd minute.
Everton responded midway through the first half. In the 26th minute, Beto levelled the score at 1–1, finishing a move created by Idrissa Gana Guèye, who provided the assist. That strike ensured the sides went into the interval on level terms.
Brentford made a change at half-time, introducing Reiss Nelson for Mikkel Damsgaard in an effort to inject fresh attacking impetus. Everton’s James Garner was booked shortly after the restart in the 47th minute as the visitors tried to disrupt Brentford’s rhythm.
The hosts regained the lead in the 76th minute, and again Rodrigues was the difference-maker. The forward struck his second of the afternoon, this time from open play, after being set up by Michael Kayode to put Brentford 2–1 ahead.
Everton turned to their bench on 74 minutes, making a triple substitution as Thierno Barry, Tyrique George and Tim Iroegbunam came on for Beto, Dwight McNeil and Idrissa Gana Guèye. The changes helped sustain late pressure, and in the 90th minute plus one, Dewsbury-Hall struck to make it 2–2, snatching a point for the visitors.
