Virtus Entella Fight Back to Hold 10-Man Venezia in Serie B Draw

Virtus Entella came from behind to secure a 1–1 home draw against Venezia FC on Serie B matchday 34, as the visitors finished with ten men in a tense finale.

Venezia struck first in the 13th minute. Ridgeciano Haps broke the deadlock, finishing a move created by Kike Pérez to give the visitors an early 1–0 lead. The goal put Entella immediately on the back foot, and the Ligurian side spent much of the first half chasing the game.

Venezia picked up the first booking of the afternoon when Antoine Hainaut was shown a yellow card in the 43rd minute. The visitors carried their narrow advantage into the break.

The second half shifted momentum toward Entella. On 61 minutes, the hosts found their equaliser, with Bernat Guiu converting after good work from Niccolò Squizzato, who provided the assist to level the score at 1–1.

The match turned further in Entella’s favour when Venezia defender Joel Schingtienne was sent off with a straight red card in the 66th minute. Earlier, Haps had gone into the book on the hour mark, and Entella’s Squizzato was cautioned himself in the 74th minute as the contest grew increasingly heated.

Both coaches turned to their benches in search of a deciding goal. Venezia introduced Lion Lauberbach, Bartol Franjić and Mattia Compagnon, while Entella brought on Nermin Karic, Mattia Tirelli, Marco Dalla Vecchia and Mattia Alborghetti. However, neither side managed to find a late winner.

The closing stages were marked by a flurry of yellow cards: Luigi Cuppone and Ivan Marconi were booked for Entella, while Pérez and Marin Šverko received cautions for Venezia. Despite the numerical advantage, Entella had to settle for a point.
