Boyé’s Stoppage-Time Strike Denies Real Sociedad in Six-Goal Thriller with Alavés

Real Sociedad de Fútbol and Deportivo Alavés produced a chaotic 3–3 draw in a gripping Basque derby on La Liga matchday 31, as Lucas Boyé struck deep into stoppage time to snatch a point for the visitors.

The tone was set early in San Sebastián with an own goal after just three minutes. Real Sociedad defender Duje Ćaleta-Car inadvertently turned the ball into his own net to gift Alavés a 1–0 lead.

The hosts responded swiftly. In the 14th minute, Luka Sučić levelled the score at 1–1, finishing after good work from Ander Barrenetxea, who provided the assist. Alavés regained the advantage on 24 minutes through Ibrahim Diabaté, whose strike made it 2–1 to the visitors.

The first-half drama continued three minutes later, when Alavés goalkeeper Sivera conceded an own goal in the 27th minute, bringing Real Sociedad back to 2–2 in a half dominated by defensive mishaps.

Real Sociedad appeared to have seized control just after the hour mark. Substitute Takefusa Kubo, introduced in the 54th minute, set up Orri Oskarsson for a 60th-minute finish that put the home side 3–2 ahead.

Alavés turned to their bench, bringing on Lucas Boyé on the hour, and the forward ultimately salvaged the result. In the 90th minute plus seven, Boyé converted from a Denís Suárez assist to make it 3–3 and silence the home crowd.

The closing stages were heated. Bookings were shown to Abde Rebbach, Ángel Pérez and Denís Suárez for Alavés, while Real Sociedad saw yellow cards for Kubo, coach Pellegrino Matarazzo and Gonçalo Guedes, and a late red card for Sergio Gómez. Multiple substitutions on both sides underlined the tactical battle, as Real Sociedad also introduced Gonçalo Guedes, Kubo, Pablo Marin, Luken Beitia and Aihen Muñoz.

Despite the rich goal and card detail, other match statistics such as possession, shots and attendance were not available at the time of writing.
