Bezrukov Strike Earns Rubin Kazan Narrow Win Away to Sochi
FK Rubin Kazan claimed an important 1–0 victory over PFK Sochi in RFPL regular-season action on matchday 23, thanks to a decisive first-half goal from Ruslan Bezrukov.
The visitors took control early and made their pressure count in the 19th minute. Bezrukov finished off a move created by Anderson Arroyo, whose assist set up the forward to put Rubin Kazan 1–0 ahead. That strike ultimately proved to be the only goal of the contest.
In response, Sochi turned to their bench after the interval. The hosts introduced Vladimir Ilyin and Anton Zinkovskiy in the 65th minute for Zakhar Fedorov and Gustavo Furtado, seeking more attacking impetus. Later changes saw Martin Kramarič and Artem Makarchuk enter the fray on 75 minutes, before François Kamano was brought on in the 88th minute as Sochi chased an equaliser.
Rubin Kazan also adjusted their lineup. Jacques Siwe replaced Daler Kuzyaev at half-time, while goalscorer Bezrukov made way for Mirlind Daku in the 68th minute. Ilya Rozhkov was substituted by Konstantin Nizhegorodov in the 73rd minute, and a late double change saw Oleg Ivanov and Dmitriy Kabutov come on for Ignacio Saavedra and Nazmi Gripshi in the 82nd minute to help see out the result.
The second half grew increasingly tense. Sochi’s Aleksandr Kovalenko and Maksim Mukhin were both booked in quick succession, receiving yellow cards in the 70th and 72nd minutes. Rubin Kazan collected two cautions of their own in stoppage time, with Veldin Hodža and substitute Mirlind Daku each shown yellow cards on 90 minutes.
Despite Sochi’s late push and a flurry of substitutions, Rubin Kazan held firm to protect Bezrukov’s early goal and secure all three points. Detailed match statistics such as possession figures, shots and full lineups were not available at the time of writing.
