Last-Gasp Moylan Winner Stuns Reading as Lincoln City Snatch Vital League One Victory

Lincoln City claimed a dramatic 2–1 away win over Reading FC in League One on matchday 42, with substitute Jack Moylan netting a decisive winner deep into stoppage time.

The Imps made a perfect start, going ahead in the 5th minute. Ryan Oné finished clinically after being set up by Recco Hackett-Fairchild, giving Lincoln an early 1–0 lead and putting the hosts immediately on the back foot.

Reading were forced into an early change when Kami Doyle made way for Paddy Lane on 28 minutes, but despite later attacking substitutions including Will Keane and Haydon Roberts on 70 minutes, the home side struggled to find a breakthrough for much of the afternoon.

Lincoln adjusted their own shape in the second half, introducing Robert Street for Ben House just before the hour and later bringing on Deji Elerewe and Alfie Lloyd. Dom Jefferies picked up a yellow card in the 66th minute, followed by bookings for Reading’s Finley Burns on 84 minutes and Lloyd in stoppage time as tensions rose.

The contest exploded in added time. Reading finally levelled in the 90th minute plus two, when Lewis Wing struck to make it 1–1 and give the Royals hope of salvaging a crucial point. However, Lincoln had the final say. In the 90th minute plus six, Moylan, introduced in the 83rd minute for Hackett-Fairchild, converted after a pass from Conor McGrandles to restore the visitors’ lead and seal a dramatic victory.
