Ledson’s Dramatic 106th‑Minute Winner Seals Huddersfield Comeback at Leyton Orient
Huddersfield Town AFC produced a late smash-and-grab 2–1 victory over Leyton Orient FC in League One on matchday 42, overturning an early setback and snatching all three points deep into added time.
The visitors fell behind on 20 minutes in unusual fashion. Defender Radinio Balker put through his own net, handing Leyton Orient a 1–0 lead despite Huddersfield’s positive start.
Huddersfield responded right on the stroke of half-time. In the first minute of stoppage time, Bojan Radulovic levelled the contest with a regular-time strike, finishing after good work from Sean Roughan, who claimed the assist. That goal sent the teams into the break locked at 1–1.
The second half featured a series of substitutions as both managers looked for a decisive edge. Leyton Orient introduced Tom James and Sonny Perkins around the 64th minute, while Huddersfield brought on George Sebine and Lynden Gooch shortly after, later turning to Dion Charles to freshen up their attack.
Huddersfield picked up three yellow cards during the contest, shown to Marcus Harness (38′), Marcus McGuane (53′) and Murray Wallace (85′). Leyton Orient’s Theodore Archibald and James Morris were both cautioned in the 90th minute as tempers frayed in a tense finale.
The decisive moment arrived at 90+16 minutes. Substitute Ryan Ledson, introduced in stoppage time, struck the winner for Huddersfield, again with Roughan providing the assist. The late goal completed the turnaround and ensured the visitors left with a vital away win.
With Huddersfield taking a 2–1 victory from this dramatic finish, Leyton Orient were left to rue an early lead that slipped away. Detailed statistics and further match events beyond goals, bookings and substitutions were not available at the time of writing.
