Moncini, Cuni and an own goal fire Bari past Modena in Serie B

SSC Bari claimed an important 3–1 victory over Modena FC 2018 in Serie B on 6 April 2026, taking control early and never seriously relinquishing it on Matchday 33 of the regular season.

The hosts went ahead in the 22nd minute when Gabriele Moncini converted from the penalty spot, giving Bari a deserved 1–0 lead. Their advantage doubled nine minutes later in unfortunate fashion for the visitors, as Modena defender Davide Adorni put the ball into his own net in the 31st minute to make it 2–0.

Modena coach’s response came at half-time with a triple adjustment in attack and midfield, introducing Gady Beyuku, Yanis Massolin and Giuseppe Ambrosino early in the second half in search of a way back into the contest. Bari, however, managed the game well and continued to keep Modena at arm’s length.

The home side effectively wrapped up the points in the 80th minute. Substitute Marvin Cuni, who had come on for Moncini, added Bari’s third goal with a regular-play finish, capitalising on good work from Mehdi Dorval, who provided the assist.

Modena did find a late consolation. In the 90th minute, Ambrosino, one of the earlier substitutes, pulled a goal back for the visitors after being set up by Beyuku, reducing the deficit to 3–1 but far too late to change the outcome.
