CA Huracán produced an emphatic performance on the road, beating Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata 3–0 on matchday 13 of the Liga Profesional Apertura. The visitors were in control from early on and never allowed Gimnasia back into the contest.
Huracán went ahead in the 17th minute thanks to a sharp move finished by Ignacio Campo. Emmanuel Ojeda provided the assist, setting up Campo to make it 1–0 and give the Buenos Aires side the perfect platform away from home.
Gimnasia attempted to respond after the break, making a half-time change with Maximiliano Zalazar introduced for Manuel Panaro and later bringing on Agustín Auzmendi for Lucas Castro on the hour mark. However, Huracán remained the more incisive side and doubled their lead in the 66th minute when Lucas Blondel struck, finishing a chance created by Óscar Cortés.
The result was put beyond doubt in the 84th minute. Jordy Caicedo added a third goal for Huracán, this time without an assist, sealing a comprehensive away victory and capping a clinical attacking display.
Huracán also picked up several bookings along the way, with Cortés, Facundo Waller, Campo and César Ibáñez all shown yellow cards. Gimnasia’s Zalazar was the only home player booked. Both coaches turned to their benches in the closing stages, with Huracán introducing the likes of Leonardo Gil, Federico Vera, Juan Bisanz, Erik Ramírez and Facundo Kalinger, while Gimnasia brought on Franco Torres, Gonzalo Gonzalez and Juan Pérez in search of a late response that never came.
With this 3–0 win, Huracán leave La Plata with a valuable three points and a confidence-boosting clean sheet.
