Dieng Strikes but Munetsi Earns Paris FC a Point at Lorient

FC Lorient were held to a 1–1 home draw by Paris FC on Sunday afternoon, as Marshall Munetsi’s second-half equaliser denied the hosts all three points in a tight Ligue 1 clash on matchday 28.

After a cagey first half with no reported major incidents in the available data, the breakthrough arrived shortly after the interval. In the 54th minute, Ahmadou Bamba Dieng put Lorient ahead, finishing a move created by Pablo Pagis to give the home side a 1–0 lead.

Paris FC had already shown their physical edge when Adama Camara received a yellow card in the 50th minute, but the visitors responded on the scoreboard with just over a quarter of an hour remaining. Munetsi struck in the 74th minute, levelling the match at 1–1 with an unassisted effort according to the official event log.

Both coaches turned to their benches in search of a winner. Lorient replaced goalscorer Dieng with Sambou Soumano in the 67th minute and later introduced Aiyegun Tosin, Karim Dermane and Panos Katseris. Paris FC made a flurry of changes around the 70-minute mark, bringing on Ilan Kebbal, Alimami Gory, Luca Koleosho and Hamari Traoré, before Samir Chergui entered in stoppage time.

The second half also brought further disciplinary action, with yellow cards shown to Pierre Lees Melou for Paris FC in the 79th minute and Kan Guy Arsène Kouassi for Lorient in the 85th minute. Neither side, however, managed to convert late pressure into a decisive goal.
