Lille OSC produced a commanding performance to defeat Racing Club de Lens 3–0 in their Ligue 1 clash on matchday 28, sealing a statement derby victory in the north of France.
The breakthrough came just before half-time. In the 44th minute, Hákon Haraldsson finished off a move created by Matias Fernandez-Pardo, putting Lille 1–0 ahead and rewarding the hosts for their first-half pressure.
Tensions rose immediately around the interval, with yellow cards shown to Lens midfielder Adrien Thomasson and Lille defender Nathan Ngoy in the 45th minute as challenges sharpened in the derby atmosphere.
Lille struck again early in the second half. Félix Correia doubled the lead in the 49th minute, giving the home side a firm grip on the contest and leaving Lens chasing the game.
The result was effectively sealed just before the hour. In the 58th minute, Fernandez-Pardo converted from the penalty spot to make it 3–0, capping an excellent individual display after already providing the opener’s assist.

Lille also rotated in the final stages, with Olivier Giroud and Benjamin André coming on in the 73rd minute, followed by Ethan Mbappé and Gaëtan Perrin on 80 minutes and a late change at left-back, as Calvin Verdonk replaced Romain Perraud in stoppage time. Mbappé received a yellow card in the 90th minute, adding to earlier bookings for Berke Özer and Lens defender Saud Abdulhamid.
