Early Chuchu strike and Paulinho Bóia clinch vital win for CD Nacional
CD Nacional secured an important 2–0 win over CF Estrela da Amadora in Primeira Liga action on matchday 28, striking in both halves to claim all three points.
The hosts made a dream start, going ahead inside two minutes. Chuchu broke the deadlock early, giving Nacional a 1–0 lead and immediately putting Estrela on the back foot. The visitors’ frustration was evident almost from kick-off, with Luan Patrick booked in the first minute.
Estrela da Amadora collected another early yellow card when Rodrigo Pinho went into the referee’s book on 16 minutes, while Nacional’s Léo Santos was cautioned just before the interval. Detailed statistics such as possession, shots and saves were not available, but the early goal allowed Nacional to control the tempo for long spells.
Both sides turned to their benches at half-time, Estrela introducing Jovane Cabral and Tom Moustier in a double change, while Nacional later responded with Daniel Jr. replacing Miguel Baeza shortly after the restart. The game remained tight until the final 20 minutes.
Nacional doubled their advantage in the 71st minute. Paulinho Bóia finished off a move created by Léo Santos, whose assist capped a strong individual display. The goal pushed the scoreline to 2–0 and effectively settled the contest.
A flurry of substitutions followed as Estrela chased a way back, bringing on Sydney van Hooijdonk, Jefferson Encada and later Leandro Antonetti. Nacional introduced Filipe Soares, Lenny Vallier and Francisco Gonçalves to see out the match. The closing stages were stop-start, with yellow cards shown to Alan Nunez, Encada, Daniel Jr. and Paulinho Bóia.
With no further goals, Nacional closed out a professional home win, highlighted by Chuchu’s early strike and Paulinho Bóia’s composed second-half finish. More granular match data beyond goals, cards and substitutions was not available for this fixture.
