Instituto defeats 10-man Estudiantes Río Cuarto 2–0 in Liga Profesional Apertura
Instituto AC Córdoba earned a solid 2–0 away victory over Estudiantes de Río Cuarto on matchday 9 of the Liga Profesional Apertura, capitalising on an early lead and a first-half red card to control proceedings.
The visitors went in front in the 18th minute. Jeremías Lázaro finished the move after being set up by Gastón Lodico, giving Instituto an early advantage that shaped the rest of the contest.
Estudiantes’ task became significantly harder just five minutes later. In the 23rd minute, Gabriel Alanís was shown a red card, leaving the hosts down to ten men for more than an hour. The dismissal forced Estudiantes into a more cautious approach, and Instituto were able to dictate the tempo.

Méndez received a yellow card in the 90th minute, adding to an earlier booking for Estudiantes defender Sergio Ojeda.
