Whitecaps ride Brian White brace to 3–1 win over Colorado Rapids

Vancouver Whitecaps FC continued their strong start to the MLS regular season with a 3–1 home victory over Colorado Rapids SC on matchday 10, decided by an early surge and a late clincher.

The hosts struck first in the 7th minute. Cheikh Sabaly opened the scoring for Vancouver, finishing after being set up by Thomas Müller to give the Whitecaps an early 1–0 advantage.

Vancouver doubled their lead in the 23rd minute through Brian White. The forward converted following good work from Andrés Cubas, putting the home side 2–0 up and firmly in control of the contest.

Colorado responded before the break. In the 32nd minute, Rafael Navarro pulled one back for the Rapids to make it 2–1, giving the visitors a foothold in the match heading into halftime.

The second half featured a series of substitutions as both managers tried to tilt the game in their favour. Vancouver introduced Jeevan Badwal at the restart, while Colorado turned to Darren Yapi, Keegan Rosenberry, Alexis Castillo and Noah Cobb as the match wore on.

With the Rapids pushing for an equaliser, Vancouver found the decisive third goal late on. In the 85th minute, White struck again, this time assisted by Bruno Caicedo, restoring a two-goal cushion at 3–1 and effectively sealing the points.

There were two yellow cards shown: Miguel Navarro of Colorado was booked in the 82nd minute, and Caicedo received a caution for Vancouver in the 90th minute.

Further detailed statistics such as possession, shots and full lineups were not available at the time of writing.

The result strengthens Vancouver’s position in the MLS standings, while Colorado leave still searching for consistency after a difficult night in British Columbia.
