Spezia Calcio produced a dominant home performance to overwhelm FC Südtirol 6–1 on Serie B matchday 35, turning a tight opening into a one-sided contest after the visitors were reduced to ten men.
The hosts struck early when Spezia were awarded a penalty inside eight minutes, calmly converted by Mattia Valoti for 1–0. Südtirol responded well, drawing level in the 20th minute as Emanuele Pecorino finished a move set up by Marco Frigerio.
The game’s key moment arrived just three minutes later when Südtirol’s Karim Zedadka was shown a straight red card, leaving the visitors to play over an hour a man down. Spezia immediately seized control: in the 25th minute, Giuseppe Di Serio restored the lead, and Pietro Beruatto added a third on 33 minutes after combining with Valoti to make it 3–1 before the break.
Südtirol, who also saw Silvio Merkaj and coach Fabrizio Castori booked, made a triple change around half-time but struggled to contain Spezia’s pressure. In the 70th minute, Gianluca Lapadula added the fourth, finishing a move assisted by Beruatto. Three minutes later, Leonardo Sernicola piled on with Spezia’s fifth.
The rout was completed in the 82nd minute when Giuseppe Aurelio made it 6–1, with Valoti again involved in the build-up to register his third direct goal contribution of the afternoon.
Both coaches turned to their benches throughout, with multiple substitutions on each side, but none could alter the outcome as Spezia cruised to an emphatic win that strengthens their position in the Serie B table.
