Olabiyi’s Stoppage-Time Winner Caps Five-Goal Thriller for Wycombe against Rotherham
Wycombe Wanderers closed their League One campaign with late drama, beating Rotherham United 3–2 thanks to a stoppage-time winner from substitute Micah Olabiyi on the final day of the regular season (matchday 46) on 2 May 2026.
The hosts made a sharp start and were ahead after 11 minutes. Taylor Allen finished off a well-worked move, converting from a pass by Jamie Mullins to give Wycombe a 1–0 lead.
Rotherham responded quickly and turned the game on its head through a rapid brace from Jack Holmes. The forward first levelled on 17 minutes, finishing a move created by Joe Rafferty. Just five minutes later, Holmes struck again, this time from a pass by Harry Gray, to push the visitors 2–1 in front.
Wycombe hit back almost immediately. On 25 minutes, Bradley Fink restored parity at 2–2, slotting home after good work from Junior Quitirna. That flurry of early goals set the tone for an open contest, though no further scoring followed before the break.
The second half featured a string of substitutions as both managers searched for a winner. Wycombe introduced Aaron Morley, Jack Matton, André Vidigal, Mohamed Keita and, crucially, Micah Olabiyi, while Rotherham brought on Josh Benson and later Jordan Hugill and James Clarke.
With the match seemingly heading for a draw, Wycombe found a decisive moment deep into stoppage time. In the 90+1st minute, Olabiyi latched onto a pass from Declan Skura and made it 3–2, sealing all three points for the home side.
The game also saw yellow cards for Dru Yearwood (Rotherham) in the first minute, Ewan Henderson (Wycombe) on the stroke of half-time, and Harry Gray (Rotherham) on 76 minutes. Beyond the recorded goals, bookings and substitutions, detailed statistical data and further match events were not available.
