Brentford Cruise Past West Ham with 3–0 Premier League Win
Brentford FC produced a composed home performance to defeat West Ham United 3–0 in Premier League action on matchday 35, with the hosts capitalising on an early defensive error before adding two well-taken second-half goals.
The breakthrough arrived in the 15th minute in unfortunate fashion for the visitors. West Ham defender Konstantinos Mavropanos turned the ball into his own net, handing Brentford an early lead and tilting the contest in favour of the home side.
Brentford tightened their grip after the interval. In the 54th minute, Thiago Rodrigues converted from the penalty spot to double the advantage, leaving West Ham with a steep uphill task. The Londoners struggled to muster a response as Brentford managed the tempo and limited clear openings.
Any faint hopes of a West Ham comeback were extinguished in the 82nd minute. Mikkel Damsgaard finished a well-worked move, with Keane Lewis-Potter providing the assist, to make it 3–0 and underline Brentford’s superiority on the day.
West Ham’s frustrations were reflected in a series of bookings. Valentín Castellanos (59′), Crysencio Summerville (62′) and Oliver Scarles (90′) all received yellow cards for the visitors, while Michael Kayode went into the book for Brentford in the 73rd minute.
Both managers turned to their benches in an attempt to influence proceedings. West Ham introduced Callum Wilson, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Adama Traoré, Oliver Scarles and Soungoutou Magassa in the second half, while Brentford brought on Kristoffer Ajer, Kaye Furo, Aaron Hickey and Josh Dasilva to see out the result.
The win strengthens Brentford’s position heading into the final weeks of the Premier League campaign, while West Ham are left to regroup after a costly defeat. More detailed statistics, lineups and post-match reactions were not available at the time of writing.
