Blackburn Rovers produced a clinical first-half display to defeat Sheffield United 3–1 away from home on Championship matchday 44, powered by a brace from Yuki Ohashi.

Blackburn doubled their advantage on 32 minutes when Morishita turned from provider to scorer, striking to put the visitors 2–0 ahead. The pressure on the home side mounted just before the interval, and Rovers struck a decisive third. On the stroke of half-time, Ohashi netted his second of the night, this time assisted by Ryan Alebiosu, sending Blackburn into the break with a commanding 3–0 lead.

Sheffield United responded with a flurry of half-time substitutions, making four changes at the restart as Sydie Peck, Leo Hjelde, Tyler Bindon and Ollie Arblaster all entered the fray. The hosts finally found a route back into the game in the 57th minute, when Harrison Burrows pulled one back, assisted by Thomas Cannon, to reduce the deficit to 3–1. Moments later, Gustavo Hamer received a yellow card as the Blades pushed to add further pressure.

Blackburn managed the closing stages effectively, with Morishita also booked early in the second half, and late yellow cards shown to Yuri Ribeiro, Eiran Cashin and substitute Todd Cantwell as the visitors saw out the result. Yuki Ohashi was withdrawn on 79 minutes to a positive conclusion of his night’s work, replaced by Mathias Jørgensen.

The win strengthens Blackburn’s position heading into the final weeks of the regular Championship season, while Sheffield United are left to reflect on a first half in which Rovers’ sharp attacking play proved decisive.
