AZ produced a clinical display to defeat SC Heerenveen 3–0 in Eredivisie action on matchday 30, powered by a first-half brace from Sven Mijnans and a second-half strike by Troy Parrott.
The hosts made a flying start, taking the lead in the 7th minute. Mees De Wit created the opener, supplying the assist for Sven Mijnans to finish and put AZ 1–0 up. Just a minute later, Mijnans struck again, doubling the advantage in the 8th minute to leave Heerenveen reeling at 2–0 down almost from the kickoff.
Heerenveen’s frustration was underlined shortly before the break when Oliver Braude received a yellow card in the 42nd minute. Both coaches turned to their benches at half-time, with Heerenveen bringing on Dylan Vente for Lasse Nordås and AZ introducing Kasper Boogaard in place of Jordy Clasie.
AZ continued to control the tempo after the interval and stretched their lead in the 71st minute. Kees Smit set up Troy Parrott, who made it 3–0 to effectively settle the contest. De Wit, who had assisted the first goal, went into the book in the 55th minute in what was AZ’s only caution of the afternoon.
The closing stages saw a flurry of substitutions from both sides. AZ sent on Mateo Chávez and Weslley Patati in the 75th minute, later giving minutes to Mexx Meerdink and Matěj Šín. Heerenveen responded with changes of their own, introducing Luuk Brouwers, Mats Egbring, Hristiyan Petrov and Luca Oyen in an attempt to find a foothold, but the visitors were unable to break through.
AZ’s three early- and mid-game goals proved decisive, securing a comprehensive home victory. Aside from goals, bookings and substitutions, more detailed match statistics and events were not available at the time of writing.
