Late Elphege Strike Lifts Parma Past Pisa in Tight Serie A Clash
Nesta Elphege came off the bench to score a decisive late winner as Parma Calcio 1913 edged AC Pisa 1909 1–0 in a closely fought Serie A encounter on matchday 34.
With detailed shot and possession statistics unavailable, the match will be remembered primarily for Elphege’s impact after his introduction. The forward entered the fray in the 66th minute, replacing Gabriel Strefezza, and needed just over a quarter of an hour to tilt the contest in Parma’s favour.
The breakthrough arrived in the 82nd minute. Elphege finished a move created by fellow substitute Oliver Sørensen, who had come on in the 78th minute for Adrián Bernabé. Sørensen’s assist set up Elphege to make it 1–0, a scoreline Parma preserved through the closing stages.
Pisa had tried to refresh their lineup early in the second half, with Gabriele Piccinini replacing Isak Vural at the interval and further changes following. Idrissa Touré, Henrik Meister, Juan Cuadrado and Lorran were all introduced as the visitors searched for a response, but Parma’s defence held firm.
The contest was competitive but largely controlled in terms of discipline. Pisa collected two first-half yellow cards through Simone Canestrelli on 18 minutes and Vural on 44 minutes. Parma’s only booking came late, when Abdoulaye N’Diaye was cautioned in the 89th minute as the hosts protected their slender lead.
Parma also turned to their bench beyond Elphege and Sørensen, bringing on Christian Ordonez, Nahuel Estévez and Pontus Almqvist during the second half to manage energy and tighten their grip on the game.
The result secures a valuable home victory for Parma in the Serie A run-in, while Pisa leave empty-handed despite a series of tactical adjustments. More granular match data such as shots, lineups, and attendance figures was not available at the time of writing.
