Calò Leads Frosinone Past Carrarese with Two Penalties in Serie B Cruise

Frosinone Calcio strengthened their Serie B position with a commanding 3–0 home victory over Carrarese Calcio on matchday 36 of the regular season, powered by a standout display from Giacomo Calò.

After a goalless first half that still brought disciplinary action – Farés Ghedjemis booked for Frosinone on 26 minutes and Devid Bouah cautioned for Carrarese shortly before the break – the match turned decisively in the hosts’ favour after the interval.

Frosinone finally broke the deadlock in the 54th minute when Calò converted from the penalty spot to make it 1–0. Carrarese responded with a triple substitution on 59 minutes, introducing Emanuele Zuelli, Nicolò Calabrese and Fabio Abiuso in an attempt to change the momentum, soon after Nicolas Schiavi had been booked on 56 minutes.

The hosts, however, tightened their grip on the contest. A double change on 70 minutes proved inspired as Antonio Fiori replaced Giorgi Kvernadze, with Seydou Fini coming on for the already-booked Ghedjemis. Just a minute later, Fiori struck Frosinone’s second, finishing a move set up by Calò to push the score to 2–0.

Carrarese continued to shuffle their pack, bringing on Jonas Rouhi and Filippo Distefano, while Frosinone added fresh legs in attack with Massimo Zilli and Ben Lhassine Kone. In added time, Abiuso received a yellow card for the visitors, compounding a difficult afternoon.

The final word still belonged to Frosinone. In the 90th minute plus six, Kone converted a second penalty for the home side, sealing a 3–0 victory and capping a performance in which Calò also made way late on for Jacopo Gelli.
