UD Almería claimed a dramatic 3–2 victory over Málaga CF on matchday 36 of the Segunda División, with substitute Léo Baptistão striking in stoppage time to settle a topsy-turvy contest.
After a scoreless first half, Almería seized control soon after the restart. Adri Embarba broke the deadlock in the 50th minute, finishing after a move involving Miguel, who provided the assist. Embarba doubled the advantage in the 63rd minute, this time combining with Álex Muñoz to put the hosts 2–0 up and seemingly in command.
Málaga responded immediately through their bench. Introduced in a double change on 64 minutes, Adrián made an almost instant impact, pulling one back in the 67th minute from an assist by fellow substitute Aarón Ochoa. The visitors’ belief grew, and the comeback was completed in the 84th minute when Haitam Abaida, another substitute, struck to make it 2–2, set up by Adrián.
Almería turned to their own substitutes to swing the game back. Baptistão, brought on in the 72nd minute, became the match-winner deep into added time. In the 90th minute plus one, he converted after being found by Jon Morcillo to restore Almería’s lead at 3–2 and deny Málaga a hard-earned point.
