Ipswich Town Finish in Style with Convincing 3–0 Win Over QPR

Ipswich Town FC signed off their Championship season in convincing fashion with a 3–0 home victory over Queens Park Rangers FC on matchday 46, thanks to early goals from George Hirst and Jaden Philogene-Bidace and a late strike from Kasey McAteer.

The hosts made a blistering start, taking the lead inside three minutes when George Hirst struck to make it 1–0. Ipswich doubled their advantage in the ninth minute as Jaden Philogene-Bidace finished off a move assisted by Hirst, putting the home side firmly in control at 2–0.

QPR attempted to respond after the break, making a double substitution at half-time with Paul Smyth and Tylon Smith introduced. Ipswich, however, managed the game well, rotating their own attack in the second half as Jack Clarke, Kasey McAteer, Ivan Azón and Anis Mehmeti all came off the bench.

McAteer added late gloss to the scoreline in the 85th minute, netting Ipswich’s third to end any lingering doubt and secure a comprehensive victory.

The match featured three yellow cards: Darnell Furlong was booked for Ipswich shortly after the interval, followed by Leif Davis on 76 minutes. QPR’s Paul Smyth also entered the referee’s notebook in the 79th minute. Several further substitutions from both sides in the closing stages could not alter the outcome.
