Cerdà Strike Earns Andorra Crucial Away Win at Cádiz
Andorra CF claimed an important 1–0 away win over Cádiz CF on matchday 35 of the Segunda División, thanks to a first-half goal from Josep Cerdà.
The visitors made the decisive breakthrough in the 35th minute. Daniel Villahermosa picked out Cerdà, who finished to give Andorra a lead they would protect for the remainder of the game. The goal separated the sides in a contest where detailed chance-by-chance statistics are not available, but the scoreline underlined Andorra’s efficiency in front of goal.
Discipline played its part across a physical encounter. Diego Alende was the first player booked for Andorra after 15 minutes, before Cádiz midfielder Rominigue Kouamé received a yellow card just before the half-hour mark. After the interval, Brian Ocampo, Min-su Kim, Álex and Iker Recio all went into the referee’s book as the intensity increased and Cádiz pushed for a response.
The home side looked to change the dynamic at half-time, introducing Ocampo for the cautioned Kouamé. Later in the second half, Cádiz made further attacking substitutions: Suso and Lucas Pérez came on in the 68th minute, followed by Álex and Roger Martí in the closing stages. Despite these moves, they could not find a way past the Andorra defence.
Andorra managed the game with a series of substitutions of their own. Goalscorer Cerdà was replaced by Manuel Nieto in the 76th minute as the visitors focused on protecting their narrow advantage, while Min-su Kim, Thomas Carrique, Jastin García and later Daniel Villahermosa also made way. No additional goals or cards were recorded after Andorra’s late changes.
With full match statistics, lineups and attendance figures not available, the headline remains clear: Cerdà’s first-half strike and disciplined game management delivered all three points for Andorra, leaving Cádiz ruing a home defeat and missed chance to add to their tally in the Segunda División clash.
